What To Bring To Tryout
$50 Non-Refundable Tryout Fee
$500 check for Deposit
(refundable if not placed on team or if player declines offer)
Copy of Birth Certificate
Proper attire (must have shoes, knee pads)
Water or sports drink
There will be a parent meeting at 1:00pm at Briscoe

All players and parents are required to attend tryouts (this includes players returning to SW, pre-evaluated players and new players).
There will be a parent's meeting to discuss the rules and procedures regarding Southwest Juniors and to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
During Tryout process, athletes will be evaluated by coaches on individual, position, court skills, attitude, and interaction with other athletes.
Positions will be offered to all 17 and 18 players immediately at conclusion of tryout.
For all other age groups, all players will be contacted within 48 hours via email, either with an invitation to join Southwest Juniors or that no position is available at this time. A response of acceptance or decline is expected within 24 hours of notice. If no response is received, it is assumed that the athlete declines and SWJrs will take steps to fill needed positions.
Note: for ages 12-16, an invitation to join SW Juniors is for non-specific team (Asics, Black, or Royal). Final team determination will be made in November, after school season has ended. At start of our club season, players in each age group will practice together for about 2 weeks, and coaches will make another evaluation. This is an important step for proper team placement as athletes will grow, learn new skills, get injured, or even change their minds.
If an athlete chooses NOT to be considered for Asics team, which requires more commitment and travel, please let us know during Tryouts and on your registration form.
